Sorrow Drowns The Living And A Soul Dies

Sorrow Drowns The Living And A Soul Dies

A Poem by KAREN

Tears fall like rain on a dreary day,

I yearn to feel your breath

flowing on my cold dead body.

I beg the God above

to let me swim in the deepness

of your eyes

one more time.

I wish to rewind,

go back to days when I felt my

heart beat with life.

I remember crimson days

when our blood

pumped as one.

Kisses on my lips were

sweet,

warm,

and loving.

Now I'm shriveling away

like the last rose you gave me

on my birthday.

Your face is printed

forever in the depth

of me.

It's true

my love,

sorrow drowns the living,

and a soul

dies.

Days without you

numbs me to nonexistence.

I'm broken forever,

and

not even a new love can

glue me back together.

I lay at the head

of your grave

bruied eternally in your love.

I felt every word of this. I have that last rose that was given to me on my birthday and I have that grave site that I too visit. I decided long ago that I could not be buried with him but will always love him. Beautiful.

Good one..

Very tragic. The loss of a loved one can destroy a person. This really pulls the reader in, it did me anyway.

A very painful and tragic poem that goes well with the picture. I remember when that picture was in the news not too long ago, she was lying on the grave of her solider that she wouldn't be able to hold in this world ever again thanks to the endless battles Americans and others are forced into these days.. It's all so very sad.
