Intersections Of LifeA Poem by KARENFor the creative poetry group.Beguiling roads we travel, influenced by generations of pill remedies, sexual games, and popularity. We live like shredded particles, waiting to be noticed, but are lost among the grains of doubt laying on the ground.
We wear our waffle-stompers to keep from falling off the mountains of hard times. Broken hinges of dreams dangle at our feet, blocking the path to a better way of living. Steep holes in our mines keep us from better choices.
We find it abstruse to unplug our deaf ears and listen to the wise. Tarpeia men and women crush themselves with deceit and lies, leaving betrayal following behind, and lustful shadows mocking us. Pleasures kindle our burning hearts. Crying brunt tears of regret haunts us, drowning ourselves in a vat of no return.
Contradiction is our home, plenty of room for, denial, and our family of medications sexual demons, and our need to be seen by the world.
We try to polish ourselves, but we are tarnished, and continue to travel a dead end road.
