The Fortuneteller

The Fortuneteller

A Poem by KAREN

Emeral lights glowing.

People screaming as rides

turn them around, over and upside down.

Sweet cotton candy cling to sticky fingers.

Foods of all kind scent the air.

The carnival is a fun jamboree.

Dark tent with eerie music playing.

Beads of assorted colors clatter

as the first costumer enters.

A gypsy emerges from the darkness,

Purple scraf keeps her fire red hair tied back.

Long earrings dangle.

Finger nails click the crystal ball

She knows the bewitching hour is here.

Shaky hand puts sliver coins into the pot.

Fortuneteller looks at his palm.

An evil grin forms on her lips,

an ex-boyfriend was he.

She leans over, bossoms jiggle in his face.

He looks into cold enthralling eyes.

Unable to move he waits for his fate.

Inventive idea she has.

Lightning flashes across the room.

She rubs her hand over her crystal ball,

mouth drops open.

"You will die tonight," she says.

Hellion face turns to laughter.

Ex-boyfriends epic courage falters,

he runs out and jumps on the ferris wheel.

Fortuneteller waves at him in a friendly gesture.

She watches as he falls to his death.

The fortuneteller stares in amazement.

"Guess I got this one right!"

A very good story in the poem. Sometime the Fortuneteller get the reading correct. Sort of some wisdom in this poem. Never go to a old girlfriend to read your fortune. Thank you for the outstanding poem.
