Those Three Little Words

Those Three Little Words

A Poem by KAREN

Sitting in the calmness of her garden

she thinks of him, wants him.

Englufed by the pain she starts to cry.

An everlasting love is what she needs.

She longs to hear them three special words.

She closes her eyes trying to savor the peace around her.

Summer time garden filled with

daisies, roses, sunflowers,

and an array of extravagent tulips.

Prickly steams and leafy stipules

blows in the gentle evening breeze.

The aromatic air is soothing.

Dazzling sweet smelling blossoms

blooms all around the evergreen yard.

A light mist of rain starts to fall.

Distant thunder can be heard,

bellowing through the wooded forest.

A humming bird hovers nearby,

sucking nectar from a dangling blossom,

giving the area a dusting of yellowish pollen.

Sounds of buzzing bees linger on florets of red clover.

Joyful crys from above can be heard

as flying ducks land by the small pond.

Sun set silhouettes the sky,

causing an explosion of color.

Spreading violet, green to yellow and red

across the horizon.

She opens her saddened eyes,

and begins to pull petals from a flower

softly saying, "he loves me, he loves me not."

As she reaches for the last petal

warm hands cover hers.

He takes the flower and pulls the last petal off,

saying softly in her ear,

"I love you."

This poem was fabulously scripted! Her emotions, and her surroundings were very well explored and portrayed. The ending was perfect!

Touching, in more ways than one, I assure you. A striking assembly of words that makes your heart flutter, only to skip a beat entirely at the end. Praise you for this one, my dear!

You creat a wonderful setting for a very sweet romantic poem. The ending was sweet, too. You have a lovely way with describing your surrondings; you make it sound exotic. Lovely poetry
