Loving Memories

Remembering all the good times!

You took my virginity,

which I was willing to give

I remember how tender you were,

loving and patient

 

We became as one through the years,

everyday was better and happier than the day before

memories we made we never forgot them,

kept them in our hearts and minds to share with others

 

I remember the time you took me dancing

underneath the old river bridge

my heart melts like wax,

each time we go there, even to this day

 

You're my friend, my confidant,

my mate, my lover,

MY EVERYTHING!

 

I remember our wedding day,

how you met me half way down the isle,

how you lifted me into your arms

and kissed me with such deep passion,

then you went back to your spot

and waited for me with open arms

 

Our first home was more like a shack,

but it was ours and we were together

we couldn't afford furniture,

so for awhile we slept  snuggled together in sleeping bags

in front of the old fire place

oh how I loved them days,

but I love each and every day with you

 

Our first fight I thought my heart was breaking,

you left and didn't come back for hours

when you finally came home you had so many roses,

red, yellow, orange, white

we made love and mended our hearts

 

When I told you I was pregnant

you beamed with happiness

you did everything for me,

and when he came into the world

you became the perfect father

 

Our family was one of a kind

we had each other,

we had a son,

then a daughter

I knew we were forever

 

Loving memories is what we made,

and now as we sit in our chairs at the nursing home

our grown kids come to see us, bringing along the grand kids

I smile, my heart so full

because loving memories we still make

I envy those who manage to build these memories and live life till there in a nursing home, still creating memories... I look up to my parents because they have been together 26 years i know it isn't as long but it still amazes me, no matter what life throws at them they still manage to stick together.
