Undying Love

Two people growing old together!

From the very begining you had my heart,

I fell in love with you the minute I laid eyes on you

         My palms were sweaty

         My legs became weak

         My heart rate  grew rapid

 

I wondered if you felt the same,

but when you walked up to me, I knew.......

        The palms of your hands were damp

        Your body trembled in my embrace

        your heart beat echoed in my ears

 

There was so many things about you I loved

          Black hair

                       silky skin

                                    sexy body

            angelic voice

 

But those aren't the only things I fell in love with,

your just as beautiful on the inside

            Caring

                    Loving

                            Forgiving

    So sweet

 

Through the years we have changed,

but our love for one another hasn't

              Grey hair

                          Wrinkled skin

        Crippled body

                           Quivering voice

 

But when I look at you,

I still see someone that is....

              Beautiful

                           Loving

                                    Caring

       Forgiving

                    So sweet

 

Now that your time with me is coming to an end,

my heart  is breaking into

I don't want to go on without you,

but my darling wife,

I'll love you forever,

It's very romantic, and hopefully indicative of many mature relationships. A bit of sad truth at the end. We've all seen what happens when an elderly person loses their lifetime mate.
