Wanting To Be Wanted

Wanting To Be Wanted

A Poem by KAREN
"

Dying to be loved!

"

she sits in a dark room,

     listening to the wind howl

the rain pouring on the tin roof

     thunder ecohes through the walls

     flashes of lightening blinds her

The agony she feels is suffocating her

she hears voices in her head telling her she's useless

     loneliness over powers her,

     she can't breathe

From the minute she was born....

     nobody loved her,

     nobody wanted her,

     nobody held her

she grew into a young lady,

hoping and praying, almost begging for love

but she is still empty, alone, without

     she is a woman now,

still waiting for the warmth of another person,

     still yearning to be wanted

her whole body is screaming for affection

     she wants to be free,

     to love

     for someone to love her,

     to hold her

     The despair grows stronger everyday,

     theres no escaping the pain

     nobody wants her,

she feels  like she's doomed to be alone

So here she sits in a dark room,

     listening to the wind howl

the rain pouring on the tin roof

     thunder echoes through the walls

     flashes of lightening blinds her

And the voices telling her she is useless

I really like the way you take us from anxiety to hope to despair - well done!

I think most people want to be heard and understood. Sometimes it would be nice, not always worrying someone else and someone being concerned about you. After a while you crave this and need it.

Excellent definatly! My mother tell her childhood like this...No one loved her, her father was cruel...She was cinderella who never gt the glass slipper... This is a sad story...Well poem but poems are storys just shorter. I loved this one. Good Job!

This was a great piece. Some girls go through this...its a sad life to live, but theres always someone to love you along the way; even if they don't know it!

those voices i swear are rented out by satan himself. i hear that chorus once in awhile telling me to chuck the self-eseem and quit trying...bastids...all of them.

this is excellent....a concise depiction of self sabotage; how the mind can work against one if we allow it. We all want to be wanted but sometimes being stuck on thinking negative thoughts about ourselves is wanting not to be wanted

A very emotional, yet beautiful, write.

It is always the darkest just before the dawn.. when love hides, is distant, and no where to be found.. why wait for another to dictate the things you feel.. reach deep down, and give to those who need it the most, and find love in serving others, serving yourself, serving the Lord.. then, and only then will love find you..
Another well done, albeit painful write..

You've created a profoundly moving, overwhelmingly sorrowful song. I could once relate too well to the words.. the sadness and loneliness. So powerful.
