The Mysterious Man

The Mysterious Man

A Poem by KAREN
"

A young girl meets up with the man of her dreams!

"

Monday was the first time I saw him

He walked into the crowded room

I spotted him right away

His dark blue eyes felt like they were alluring me to come to him

Tuesday he came into the grocery store where I worked

I prayed he would come to my check out lane

but he went through the express lane instood!

Wednesday I woke up in a funk

Why was I acting like this?

I didn't even know him,

but I felt peaceful when he was near

Thursday I went for a walk in the park

He was sitting on a bench by  the pond

I headed toward him, but heard my name

When I turned back, he was gone

Friday I stayed in bed all day

When I slept I saw his face

Something about him was  surreal

Saturday I decided to go to a party

My heart was breaking, he never showed up

I drank too much, trying to drown my sorrow

When I left I knew I shouldn't drive, but I did!

Sunday I awoke in the hospital

I felt a presence in my room

I looked beside my bed, it was him!

He was bright and shiny

I felt at peace

"Don't be afraid," he said.

"I'm your angel of death!"

No.. didn't expect that ending, creative idea behind the poem.. I liked it...
I think you can probably trim a little, take out some of the excessive lines or words in each stanza, it read a little clumsy.. Say more with less, helps with the overall flow..

For instance..
Thursday I went for a walk in the park
He was sitting on a bench by the pond
I headed toward him, but heard my name (called)
When I turned back, he was gone..

Just a suggestion..
