PEACE

Close your eyes and you'll be there!

Where can peace be found?

All you have to do is close your eyes, and let your mind wander to a new place,

to a new awareness.

 

Close your eyes and find your solitude.

Your in a field of wildflowers,

the warmth of the sun shining down on you,

the air filled with nature scents.

 

Your on the beach,

you can feel the sand beneath your feet,

the salty waves splashing in your face,

the sea gulls flying high above you.

 

Your in a cabin in the middle of no where,

the snow is falling outside,

the fire is crackling in the fireplace.

 

Your high on a mountain top,

you feel free, safe from everything,

you can hear the roaring of a nearby waterfall.

 

When the sun is rising high in the sky, causing colors to spill,

or when the sun is setting , causing darkness to cover the earth,

 

Keep your eyes closed,

open them and peace

Is gone!

Very meditative work-- the final line brings a sharp contrast which reads like a slamming door that forces the reader to look at the chaos which exists in our own evironment. Subtly suggesting perhaps to add some peace into that environment. Very clever work.
