The Sad One

The Sad One

A Poem by Eli Blayze
"

Can you figure out who she is before the end?

"

She softly lowers her head,

He walks away without looking back.

Sadness fills her heart,

His car keys jingle in his hand.

She looks up to see if he motions for her,

He does not.

She recedes from the door,

Thinking “What did I do?”

She lays down on the couch,

Thinking “Maybe next time.”

And she curls up into a ball,

While wagging her tail.

Wait, While wagging her tail? I did not guess that, never would have in a million years. Very good. I have four dogs, so I really know about this.
