![]() Water's EdgeA Poem by Eli Blayze![]() This is a sonnet I had to write in 8th grade. This was my first sonnet. Enjoy and try to look deeply into the symbolism.![]() Water is moving all around the boat, Darkness is coming and there is no light. Movement is out there; please keep me afloat. I am alone throughout the wretched night.
I can hear the orcas singing their song, Splashing water while diving up and down. Calling on my faith, I have to stay strong, Weeping with tears all I can do is frown.
Thoughts of my life, rushing through my head, There is no savior out there to help me. Hope I can see how they feel when I’m dead, Will brightness show me through the deep dark sea?
I see myself as a small child ashore, Could I change, if I got to live once more? © 2011 Eli BlayzeReviews
