An Age-Old Song

An Age-Old Song

A Poem by Tyler

Singing an age-old song,
and it dances around me.
The colors of the world
shining on our true feelings.

This light is so brilliant,
this bond is never broken.
Life can't end with all this beauty,
love won't stop with this
cloudless sunlight.

I never want this song to end,
let the sun shine forever.
We leave before the sun sets,
and travel the world together.

I'm on the last verse now,
watching the sunset, now nearly gone.
"Time to move on," I tell her.
But she unwillingly stays still,
sitting in the darkness only to change.

I sit down next to her,

and look up at the stars.

In their glistening light I can only pray,

that love won't stop in the

cloudless moonlight.

People come and go,

the moon never stays constant.

And I just want her to know

that I will repeat that age-old song.
