Paradise Found

Paradise Found

A Poem by Mark

Paradise Found

Blue Lizard, tail of turquoise and cosmic meanderings on an ocean of gray stone.
Island breeze capturing the songs of birds and tiny frogs, as the sun slowly brings life to all that it touches.
Bright red tropical flowers slowly fall from behemoth trees on high, and lazily plummet to the ground below adding their Jackson Pollock like influence to the junglescape while butterflies dance an effortless tango, as they flit to and fro.
Vines dangle from the tallest trees, hanging down like hair in need of a barbershop's undivided attention while the shadow of a hawk flying overhead reveals his otherwise undetected presence, hearing soft winds whisper sweet caresses over the palm trees on this tropical island mountaintop.

this is poetic aromatherapy like that bowl of potpourri my aunt Stella kept in the vestibule of her house. I, as a child, always felt birds flying or the dancing of butterflies or other flying things while there.....Then my dad drove us home. I learned that paradise, another's paradise, was any perfect thing you adopted and brought into existence as your own. I loved the Pollock reference, dripping his angular, volatile oils that left you saying,
"who dreams like this" ..great poem.....dana

A tropical island paradise brought to life. You've found your paradise Mark, and you've given us a wonderful account of what we are missing. Nicely conveyed.

Indeed, you've described a paradise of flora and fauna. Hopefully, it's just as nice for humans. (I imagine it is)
