"The Bane of My Existence"

"The Bane of My Existence"

A Poem by Mark
"

Just one of those things that had to be written after having a bad day.

"
                                The Bane of My Existence

The bane of my existence, or the existence of my bane,
Not just one, but both of them, have been a source of pain.
Fair weather friends are one thing, fair weather family's worse,
But both of them inflict their own variety of curse.
Now don't misunderstand me, at times I've been a cad,
But nothing that deserves behavior, that simply is just bad.
So happenstance and circumstance, have put me to the test,
Placed me in situations that are, dysfunctional, at best.
I'm pushed and pulled in all directions, in each and every way,
But thankfully, I am aware, tomorrow's another day.

We must all find our way as best we can, stepping on as few toes as possible. It's not a crime to squash a few, I don't believe, but just the way life is. To quote someone you might know, "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
