I Saw What--

I Saw What--

A Poem by Stiver
"

A poem about the Jews, Geraldo Rivera, and that fat black b***h on the view...(not really).

"

I saw What, when I died--
the spider web from inside--
I saw bombs, like dominoes;
patterns like a quilt--
hate and guilt
tattooed on your heart

I saw the sword
sunk to the hilt
I saw his head tilt--
James Dean--
leaning in a chair,
behind the counter--
sun walking through the door.

I heard a yellow laugh,
nervous--out of touch;
I felt surrender.
I waited for Robert E. Lee,
But all I got was Elvis—
a song he wrote for me.

“All I got”
All I could think—
Pick-Up-Sticks and Jacks
Pick-Up-Sticks and Jacks
Pick-Up-Sticks and Jacks—

Pretty intense ambience here, because of how tight all the imagery is. It's very cool to read.
Each stanza feels perfect, succinct. Nowt constructive to offer here.
Thanks for sharing this.

p.s. looks like you haven't been around for a while...or haven't been writing much lately?

I would rather have Robert E. Lee, too.

How often do we get mixed up in what was not knowing the why or the how?

Excellent write. I heard a yellow laugh. Has the ring of authority, a voice of experience. Wow.
