Prologue

A Chapter by Miss Mad Alice

“Don’t look at me like that.” She said to me. But how could I not? There she was knelt beside a motionless boy and fresh blood dripping from her chin. Her glowing gold eyes staring back at me with no remorse.  She ran her tongue across her lips and smiled showing off her bloodstained fangs.

“I had to.” She said.

“No you didn’t and you know it! Beth was going to help with a spell to reverse your transition.” I spat at her. She rolled her eyes and rose to her feet while wiping her mouth with her no longer white T-Shirt.
“You think that witch in training could have helped?”

I narrowed my eyes. “Of course.”

She shook her head. “I was in pain! My bones felt like glass and there was a constant hunger eating away at me, and you know what I mean because I know you feel it too! I needed this and I feel amazing!” She held out her hand with blood dripping from her fingertips. “Join me babe.” She whispered. “Just one little lick and it’ll all be over. We could spend eternity together!” She walked toward me until her fingertips were resting on my bottom lip. I felt the lukewarm red liquid drip from her finger down my lip and run all the way down to my chin. I felt my stomach twist into itself. I smelled the iron in the blood. I desperately wanted to stick my tongue out and suck on her fingers. One simple lick and the transition would be complete. One simple lick and the pain would end. “Do it.” She whispered to me. I closed my eyes and remembered the way her voice moaned my name when we laid with each other. I remembered the warmth of her hand inside my own when we went on dates. I remembered the way her forbidden lips felt against mine and the way her long nails bit into the skin of my arms just as she reached her climax.  I remembered our first time meeting and the way she nervously played with her hair, twirling it into a curl with her index finger. But then I opened my eyes again and saw the gold in her irises and the body on the floor. I saw the blood on her hands and dried in her hair. I slapped her hand out of my face and grabbed her by the throat pushing her against a wall. I crashed my lips on hers and waited for her body to relax. She ran a hand down from my hair down to my neck and hovered just over my collar bone. I pulled away and brought my lips to her ear.

“I’m sorry.” I whispered.

“For-” but it was too late. I had already driven the stake just below her breast and into her heart. She gasped and began to stumble forward. I caught her in my arms as her body became dead weight. She gulped in broken breaths and her body began to twitch. I gently laid her on the floor and watched as the gold left her irises and returned to their normal brown.

I could feel my own heart breaking and let the tears fall from my eyes onto her face that slowly was losing color. “I love you.” I sobbed. A small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth. “I forgive you.” She said just has her once beautiful body disintegrated into an ugly gray ash.

Well done! The only thing I can say is kind of nit picky, but it is the only thing I find wrong with it. Instead of saying " not anymore white t- shirt" say no longer white t- shirt. Other then that I liked it!
