THERE IS A FIRE THAT BUILDS

THERE IS A FIRE THAT BUILDS

A Poem by Joanna Maharis
"

THERE IS A FIRE THAT BUILDS

"

Sing with me, my love,

Of the wonderment of Christ.

I want to be crushed by the frost in your soul.

There is a fire that builds in my heart for 100

Nights without you.

I cannot take one more day, my one and only nigh.

For I must disappear, myself,

And ring the ears of the wind where they entice

The darkened clouds with the bones of the dead.

Hallow me out, my light.

Then I will sanctify you with every drop of your

Spirit that drips onto my canvas where scattered

Pictures are created with the strokes of your bloody

Fingers.

This is the only way permanently to leave your soul

Imprinted upon my heart.
