With Each Chilling Step I TakeA Poem by Joanna MaharisWith Each Chilling Step I Take
I am delivered by the hands of the deliverer
In these times of strife. He holds my hand as we walk down the loving shores And talk of the frothy tears that pour from my crystalline eyes. I count the ways his voice soothes me with petals of roses and lilacs Whose nectar seeps into my spongy skin to cleanse away the soot Time has left upon my jagged soul. Mystical is the sweet scent in the air that blankets My shimmering nose. I toy with the mountains so crass And make an offering to my Lord who braces me With each chilling step I take. I am humble by this fallow act of kindness and nurturing. For he is the one and only true light that burns inside of my Eternal being so powerful that it overtakes me. I can not convalesce the ways of the earth That hold man to his word and deed. But I can recognize the fragrance that dwells Inside my corpse shell. © 2010 Joanna MaharisAuthor's Note
