Lead Me Into the TwilightA Poem by Joanna MaharisLead Me Into the Twilight
Lead me into the twilight, my golden stallion
Who wrestles with the soldiers of the metallic rain. Listen to my song that pleads for you to come into my lyre And dress your tail with satin or silk. I am forever enchanted by your melodic flesh That sings to my spirit with great power of the tongue. For I shall dance into the purple sea when you Come to call on me for a walk into the everglades That burn with volcanic minds to enrapture me With their philosophic creeds of strife. I shall not be forced to exchange the holy for the unholy, But instead, I shall vanquish all driven visions That march inside the patterns of my mind. So if you wish for me to be a part of your unlawful deeds, Then you will have to convince higher mountains Than me to allow your credence to embrace my lulling melodies. For it will do you no good to put forth such a dead effort, Because you will lose every time. © 2010 Joanna MaharisAuthor's Note
