RAIN DANCER

RAIN DANCER

A Poem by Joanna Maharis
"

This poem is about an offering made by an individual to appease a greater power than himself.

"

Rain dancer, hang onto my lighted heirloom

that is draped around your neck.

For my salty creed has empowered you

with frolicking skies to bear the wrath of your fruit.

I am the forbearer of this trident song that is released

by your encumbered soul.

For I wish to enter into a breech of contract

with the engrossing panhandle your overseer

offers up to the beastly fire of his entourage.

I am the fever that burns up your spirit.

Your are the funnel cloud that increases my laughing heartbeat,

if only to access the mystic code of the daunt ling.

Starlet of my murky tears,

stand beside me when the raging mine shaft

collapses on top of odious soldiers

who plot their way into my transistor mind

with their mystical rhyme.

For the satire of this wish shall only be granted

in times of rigidity in the weeping plains;

yet, I shall continue to roar into the glass sternum

and let the roses bleed inside my iridescent waters.

This is a kaleidoscope of imagery; each bright ,shining piece falling to compose a new picture in the mind's eye. Well done.

The imagery is amazing.
I loved this poem, its ironic because I was moping around today and I thought about writing a poem like this.
Well based on the same idea: The idead of a person offering something greater than he could provide.
Well along those lines... O.o
I really like this. :)

The imagery is clear and yet jumbled... what I mean by that is you can take so much out of this like switching channels to see different programs... at points I see it as a homeless person regretting decisions to a clergyman stealing from his congregation... again your work is amazing.
