The War of Holistic Roads

The War of Holistic Roads

A Poem by Joanna Maharis
"

Sometimes the battles between man and nature can be so fierce, that at the time the war occurs, he doesn't think about the consequences that derive from his actions. But somehow in the end, there is the dawning of a new day which leads to new beginnings

"

Ancient soldiers fall down with arrows

protruding from their chests.

Remnants of their garments are stained with blood.

Red waters saturate the earth with angelic tears

that drip from the eyes of heaven.

The lion strains his neck only to get devoured by man

who thirsts for his blood.

Minstrel moons shy away from holistic roads.

Shout into the night, little lamb.

Shout into the night, little lamb.

Spread the word of the Sovereign's murdered fleet

that dared to cross dangerous channels.

For the dawning of a new day has come

It is intriguing, although slightly confusing in meaning. I have trouble connecting some of the thoughts of (though that could just be my headache). It does however possess your wonderful use of imagery and language.

this has a chantlike quality to it....it reminds me of something translated - as though it is ancient. I'm having difficulty articulating it but I found it powerful, timeless. Nicely done.

I love prose poetry and you really know how to make it look easy... a very masterful and compelling write... in the face of danger the inner strength is there for anyone with a heart.
