Fostering The Mirage of Ships

Fostering The Mirage of Ships

A Poem by Joanna Maharis
"

Loves tender read burns up in the night.

"
I can't escape the waves of good bye
fostering the mirage of ships sailing
side by side on their way into the
battle of hearts where explosions
bombard the mind and soul.

Hampered is the spirit slowly
rising from the wings of heaven's
angels taking their stance in the
everglades.

I'm put into a trance by your
hypnotizing cries for release
from the fires holding you
captive to your rage.

However high the flames do
burn, remember how the ways
of the sun drench the flesh
with their warmth to give
out the everlasting glow
of the light burning in the
mist of your tears.
