Everyday Greatness

Everyday Greatness

A Poem by still421
"

A high school project I have kept cause I like the message and the delivery.

"
Amid aspirations
both swollen and lost
Are benefits garnered
not smitten with cost

Leagues and legions
of procrastinations

March on each soul
March on each nation

Yet one light shines
amid the rest
Hope will return
at the trump of duress

Vibrations flowing
reverberations coming
Chaos is ebbing
freedom forthcoming

The one gift is granted
the one feat eternal
For those who are spirited
the ability internal

The warm nectar success
will warm our minds numb
Sweet, sweet rest
does your soul have the room?

In this mindless race,
the ones who are winning
A separate better race
lies with those contending

Those who show no limit
those who mercy refrain
those who always can bear it
those who always sustain

The ones that don't let go
these are the ones who strive
These are the ones to overthrow
the ones who put meaning to life

Greatness is not measured by the road
or by how many detours that claimed you
Greatness is what you were able to goad
from those who had it before you

Let the ones who let themselves go
just let the others push them around
Let them fall, their fall is to show
show you that you don't belong on the ground

You can't let anyone stop you
soldiers we must be
Let anyone's lies get through:
and your sight will cease to see

The beginning almost needs to be ignored. I have simply failed to come up with anything better.
