Some Things Are Kept

Some Things Are Kept

A Poem by ALiteRead

Some things are kept in a special place
The place I call my heart
I put you there the day we met
I knew right from the start

Right next to things both great and small
Things only I would know
The things from life we gather
As along our path we go

Things like my dog when only three
And my first two wheeled bike
And the taste of chocolate
All things that I have liked

But more than that, these treasured times
So glad I did not miss
The first time that I saw your face
The first time that we kissed

Forget them not, I saved them
I kept them from the start
In the place my treasure lies
The place I call my heart.

i love the way you used the line "the place i call my heart" twice in the poem. what i like about this line is that you used it in a way that it was as if 'heart' was your special name for it, not the name that everybody uses. very creative.
