Dry

Dry

A Poem by Stephen Norton

Passion is a well well fracked

Keep pumping

But the earth is dry

There's not enough for tears

Not enough for life

The clay is baked

The shape is set

Your attempts form cracks

But the expression remains

Look into my eyes

Pottery glazed

Underneath I pray for rain

The first line could use a comma to prevent confusion. I'm sure there are different interpretations for passion here being there is nothing specific mentioned so I'll go with a failing relationship. Your metaphor is strong and demonstrates well through objects and stable things that are faltering. A commendable poem.
