Jasmine

Jasmine

A Poem by Stephen Norton

The Sampaguita Bloom

That soft aroma

It encased me for days

Kept locked in your aura

The flickering candle

Kindling in your eye

The pink curve

That beauty, called your smile

It lingers here

A memory forever

The future now

Who knows what will whether?

I now question the title Jasmine. The moment I saw the title I immediately thought of the flower. With a different name shown in the poem, I was definitely confused. But when I looked up images up both flowers (just to be sure) I saw they looked different. so now I'm assuming that Jasmine is a lover of this person. This completely flipped my mind around, and left me questioning. Great job!
