JudasA Poem by Steve MOrthodoz and fundamental Christians view the story of Judas as being that of a traitor. What if in Judas' eyes...JUDAS BY STEVE MILLARD YES, YES, IT WAS ME! One of the twelve. But now an outcast. I still recollect How ‘tween two thieves His last breath expired On that cross His body lifeless. In my mind I screamed- “NO, NO, it wasn’t S’pose to happen this way. They Don’t Understand.” The eleven I supped with, The eleven I confided with, The eleven I trusted so dearly. Those eleven I loved Their backs now turned. I stand alone- even centuries later. The stigmata of my Lord Burned into the very depths of my soul. “Traitor, they yell!” With fingers they point “Traitor, they yell.” My lot now cast By those who profess Followers of Love and forgiveness. Silent I now be… Doesn’t help to explain. Yet my mind… In wretched torment. That decision I made, Tortures my soul. I can not escape. How long will it last? To rid myself of things passed. How long will it last? Mind chatter of thoughts racing. How long will it last? In agony my soul pleads, “OH HOW I YEARN TO LOVE.” “OH HOW I YEARN TO TRUST’ Though I dare not… Even centuries later… My soul wanders to and fro Lost and alone. In a world of my own I suffer in fear.
