Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Steph Cruz

I’m not afraid to be alone
I’m afraid that somewhere
down the line,
I’ll take more comfort
in listening to my own thoughts
than an actual conversation.

I guess I’m afraid of
falling in my own trap
of self-denial and doubt,
after all, we all need someone
to acknowledge our existence
once in awhile.
