Scent of DeathA Poem by StephanieAnother product of my creative writing class.Colorful, sweet, intoxicating Beautiful on the surface Its true nature concealed like an iceberg Roots stretching deep into the earth Hiding its real self A flower, yes. Just not so sweet Death lurks beneath delicate petals Disguised as white innocence Curiosity will lead to your demise The flora claims you for eternity Don’t be frightened as you fade into silence Look through darkened vision in amazement That the lily tricked another simple soul
