Lie [about] me

Lie [about] me

A Poem by Stephanie
"

Rant in poem form.

"

Lies.

So much damage in a four letter word

So much anger

Uncontrollable hurt!

They say a white lie never hurt anybody...

I say bullshit.

It can destroy something precious

before you finish blinking.

The most precious-

someone's trust.

And you lost mine.

I realize you're upset, I understand.

But don't you dare twist the truth

and make me the villain, the enemy, the b***h.

Don't you dare!

Did I utter a single word against you?

Not one.

Did I yell until I had no voice?

Never.

Did I intentionally hurt you?

I wouldn't dream of it.

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings,

or broke your heart.

At least I didn't lie.

And here's a newsflash:

Friends don't tell lies about each other.

Friends don't lie about telling those lies.

Friends wouldn't lie at all.

How can I be your friend when you're making it so hard?

The direct clarity of this write has me in awe. No gentle lead in, no mixed messages pure, beautiful and raw honesty.

The reader can not only feel your words but they can hear them ringing in their ears.

An extremely strong write honey.

This is absolutely powerful! An emotional, honest, poignant write about the destructiveness of a lie... something many don't think twice about doing, though trust can be destroyed forever. Amazing write.

my sentiments exactly. trust is just too important in friendship. sadly, we have forgotten this simple truth. you hit it right on the spot, great job

Actually this is poetry it its most raw form making it the most emotionally straight forward... you don't need things to be polished to be artwork... I love the edginess of this piece as you lay it all out there... You took the mature high road and obviously someone has to hurt another to try and make themselves feel better.
At least you can look in the mirror with pride while they sit in the darkness of lies.
