Rain III: The MusicalA Poem by StephanieThere was a huge storm today and I got inspired!"Rain, rain, go away! Come again some other day."
I sing to quite a different tune, one more melodious to my ears that harmonizes with a magical being and others find hard to hear.
They hit notes so discordant, so pitchy and out of tune! I can't decipher the words or rhyme over the winds of the monsoon...
I exaggerate. It's simply wind and rain- A natural symphony not played on the radio, a concert so grand it's anything but plain.
Streets transform to flowing rivers, carrying leaves and despair away... Gathering puddles grow ever larger just for the children to jump in, to play.
Little drops drip off the trees, making their way through the world only to be stopped by a person walking by- this drop's life ended on the scalp of a small girl.
They are all deaf to the sounds of beauty, oblivious to the wonders I behold- huddled under hoods and umbrellas, all they sing about is "oh, it's so cold!"
A select few of us know the true wonders of rain, we dance in it, song along, smile and laugh! Love every drop and miss them when they're gone, take it all in on the other's behalf.
