Dance Lessons

A Poem by Stephanie
"

Contest: Hay (na) ku.

"

Ballerina,

teach me

your graceful ways.

The smoothest steps

timed to

music...

Toes

on pointe

without falling flat...

Moving in rhythm

to life's

orchestra...

Twirling

in circles

with perfect balance...

Teach me grace.

Teach me...

Ballet.

Haynaku has 3 lines. One word in the first line, two in the second, three in the third (or reverse). This is a mixture. Never tried this form before.

Beautifully written! I love the formatting and the poem seemed to flow like a dance does. Very well done!

This is an absolutely amazing piece with exquisite form and flow! The imagery you create with this soft write is so tender and moving, like words in a dance. This is just wonderful to read again and again!

I absolutely adore it. It's so fun and appealing. :]
In fact, it reminds me of the style of Ellen Hopkins, who writes her novels in prose. She's kind of dark, but her works are addicting.
