Abuelita

Abuelita

A Poem by stephsand14

I had a dream and your angelic presence was in it

Tired of carrying the weight of life and its disappointments

You offered to take me with you

I accepted

I wanted my mom and dad to come with me

You granted me the wish

A baby in a white carriage

A car was headed in its direction

My long and strange arm took over

Instinct

I saved it

I was brave

Something uncommon

I changed my mind

I had to stay and live for this baby

You did not object

You just disappeared
