I Wanted Stability

I Wanted Stability

A Poem by stephsand14

I wanted stability

I wanted tranquility

So I forced myself to stay

My mind needed nurturing

My soul needed Destiny

But I closed myself and stayed

I desired to be free

I desired to be me

But convention made me stay

Far in the distance I see

All that I could never be

Plus, the lies that made me stay

Perhaps, if I tried to live

Perhaps, if I tried to give

Then, I wouldn’t have to stay

If I could try to be brave

I could step out of this cave

And give myself the chance to runaway.

This is exactly what it's like, isnt it? People who don't know, can't possibly understand. Very well done

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Wow, I really connected with this poem. Trying to hold yourself in place when your soul is struggling to burst out and flee to where you need to be. Excellent job with this poem.
