Eyes That Met but Did Not Speak

Eyes That Met but Did Not Speak

A Poem by stephsand14

Do you remember that one hug you craved?

You pulled, I embraced, but it was instant.

Do you remember how you left me dazed?

All day I was here, and you were distant.

Eyes that met but did not speak to release

All the truth that was building within us.

This fleeting encounter forced you to seize

A moment of affection and closeness.

It was your last chance; it was a goodbye.

A bond constructed of interrupted

Memories.   A few seconds to touch, sigh,

And breathe.  In your arms, I felt accepted

And needed.  You did not want to let go,

I felt at home, but others could not know.

One can tell so much in one look
Acceptance and love is never a matter of words
One look can communicate all that and be sincere
I guess this is the beauty of being human

Truly enjoyed reading this write
