Feeling out of place sometimes

A visceral poem.

Feeling out of place sometimes,

Everyone appears to be in the right place

Except for me.

I am lost,

Lost in my own thoughts,

Lost in my own nightmares,

It’s like every step I take is in a direction

That will forever be foreign to me.

How did I get here?

Why can I not stop going in this direction?

Out of place,

Out of my mind,

It’s supposed to be simple;

It’s supposed to be easy.

Select your path and walk.

But it’s not,

Not for me,

My angel has abandoned me.

I can feel the void when I breathe,

When I speak,

When I walk,

I fail to fly. I fail to grasp. I fail to hold.
