Towards the Sky

Towards the Sky

A Poem by stephsand14

When I see children play in the playground,

Gliding on swings that brighten darker days,

I see a girl who once liked swinging too.

This little girl, quiet and not so bright,

Unmasked herself, while up on a swing.

Children stared in awe because of Envy.

Although they yelled, she pushed herself harder.

Towards the sky even if they frightened her.

This was her chance to unfold and appear.

The need to shine and fly pushed Weakness out.
