Little Murder

Some lyrics i wrote for my band and an EP we're working on. Its part of a group of song that tells the story of a usually serious, strong, decisive, woman who falls for a flighty poet of a man.

High, are you high?

When you lie at my side.

Lie, do I lie?

When I claim to be inside?

Covered in your suicide but was I the gun between your eyes?

On this ledge with a void to solve, am I the street’s that break your fall?

 

Enough, have you had enough?

Bluff, you want to try my bluff?

I’ll talk you down so I can take you out

A little savior you could live without

Love, will you call me love?

 

Dream, baby go to sleep.

Sleep, rest in peace.

In release have you found peace?

You know you speak before you breathe.

I’m the pillow to stop your breath, something soft you won’t forget.

Pressing down to draw you out, a little murder to calm my doubts.

this poem was fantastic, i like how you rhymed in places, and you got the reader thinking about what they are reading. the questions helped the reader question what you were talking about? what kind of person is this about? etc...
