I Would Still Go There

I Would Still Go There

A Poem by Stephen Cousins
"

A dream about going home

"

I would still go there if only to

Watch them through the window

As they laugh and play together

I stand outside

Once this place was the essence of me

Now my hands leave prints on the window pane

They fade quickly as if I were never there

My view is blurred by the net curtain

Of time and distance

On tip toe I stretch for a clearer view

Only to slip and fall

“Mummy, there’s a noise outside!”

“Don’t worry son, it’s nothing”.
