One of those days

One of those days

A Poem by Stephany

Today is one of those days....
The slight breeze is not enough to offer coolness on this 100-degree day
and friends who wave from afar lighten the heart, but not quite enough
Dogs days are here and they belong to all seasons, not just the summer
and tasks are many, not overwhelming, but never-ending
I imagine sitting, no standing in the water, with waves, gently cascading
and they are cool enough to solicit a squeal and a desire for more
And there is more, for today is one of those days....
Sunset set clouds wrapping their pink hues into the waiting arms of the blue sky
a visual blending offered, delivering the chance to share the grace of thankfulness
Reminding us that the greatest painter, paints every day, and nothing is too insignificant to stop and gaze with the wonderment of a child
Humbling it is, for the beauty is hovering, just waiting to be held by our eyes, with our minds, and within our hearts
For today is one of those days....
Blessings held as breath is drawn, begs to be released
with the tensions of a deep exhale, freeing my spirit
Peace found in the tempo, four beats of a music score, and birds who sing
can you hear it, feel it...there it is waiting for you
Echoing the longings you reach for, the desires you dream of
finding them where they have always been, within you
Today is one of those days where all things are possible

It's the little details that make the bigger picture what it is Steph. Perhaps a little irony thrown in too, on a hot day, who wouldn't want to walk into the waves, if they had the energy and it wasn't one of those days, where the list has one thing ticked off and four more added.
All we can do is hope tomorrow is less one of those days and more of a splishy splashy day with the never ending list of things to do is put aside and forgotten. You can always hope someone else finds it and ticks some more off for you 😀

I agree Stephany and you are welcome.
A very nice offering here about the joys that ever wait within. Even in the midst of the August heat it is possible to appreciate the beauty that is always there in the inner reaches. Dwelling there helps us to be aware of the outer beauty, too.
PS: in verse 2, you might want to drop the s from lightens.
