Which part to give

Which part to give

A Poem by Stephany

Lying here, looking up .......to nothing really
Asking questions for which there never are
any answers
I am reminded, once again
.......it seems
That to give everything,
one hundred percent of all
regardless of that all means, I have negated the
very value of that which
was important
A heart sure to be uniquely different than
any other A mind while traveling in
similar circles will retain its
individuality
A look, the looks
composed upon a canvas
of flesh, no two alike
Each component, a portion
creating a masterpiece
surpassed by no other
.............when combined
For
There will always be
Prettier, or a more Handsome face A body more svelte, alluring
A mind honed sharp by intelligence
Something to make an appetite crave, that which they don't have
To compete knowingly or without forethought
forebodes terrible waters to
tread within
There is no fulfillment
for those who only wish
for that which, they don't have
and those who compete for
which there can be no winner
Ah..
But the treasure in the pile of fool's gold is the heart For no one can compare
with the sincerity and love
it posses
You cannot separate it,
Isolate it or make it a commodity
of its own
It is the integral part of the package
the glue that binds it’s all creator of our own
Individuality
Again, my question
begs for an answer
For if I chose to give it all
to someone,
then by the
mere act of doing so
Have I declared it no
longer has value?
I should not be surprised
then
after making the offer
and being received
Time wears the face of an expiration date As it is tossed away, no
longer desired
Perhaps
the answer lies in fragmentation
I give my mind to one,
my body to another my heart to someone else
Then all that would be tossed
Would be that which has become an
object of your boredom A single portion
of me
Now, which part do I give?

i think that to be able to give one's heart completely, not expecting anything in return...not a fool...just a giver...those who have expectations are usually users...and their heart is made of fool's gold.

How about the part I feel when I close my eyes - that softly enwraps my hand and gently holds it tight and close?

This one gave a wish for nearness and caring...

Wow. This is an amazing poem. I loved the wording, and the hidden meanings. It is so true that it is almost easier to give people pieces of yourself, so you never lose yourself as a whole to one.

I love this. Great writing.
