Take my hand

Take my hand

A Poem by Stephany

This was written for a friend, hope you all enjoy it

Every heart should have another who can hear the dreams

that float between maybe and definitely

Once upon a time, long ago, I loved a heart that I thought could

hear mine

Instead, blaring horns and noisy distractions faded the melody

and I just languished between there and never

Life was calm, predictable, nice

My joys were many, but I no longer heard the music

And then I met you..........

It was if the needle had found its way back to the record,

Life was no longer filled with a static skip

Suddenly there was another heart who swayed to the sound

of delicate notes arranged smoothly on a page

Hello, turned the corners of your lips, struggling to restrain

a smile that made a stagnant heart turn back flips

No longer does a shadow block the warmth of the sun

from my hibernating heart.Like spring, it stirs

It is if time has turned backwards, this heart knows only

the tremble of what if and the hope of your glance

For today, tomorrow and forever, you have captured a once dormant heart

breathed hope anew and woke hope from its slumber

Take my hand and dance across the dewy meadow, let me bask in

the light of your smile and live in the presence of you

"Life was calm, predictable, nice

that was "emptiness" my dear friend, and I'm happy to know You are no longer within it, true friendship is a gift, and I'm sure that Your friend thinks the same way about You, some heartfelt and beautiful sentences there, I specially love the ending.

that's so lovely and You are a wonderful friend :)
'I no longer heard the music", so many will resonate with those words, remember how they felt before that special person came along to awaken their spirits. Lovely poetic lines here, a beautiful read. Thank you.

Thank you Chris..
Beautifully written Stephanie. I think we all know this experience from sometime in our past, whether it be the one who hears or the one who has let life deafen them, as they get caught up in the distractions that life throws at them. Rarely do we find that needle in the groove play softly and without interruption, which makes it all the more cherished when we do hear it.
