Other Woman

If you have ever been a side chick, this is relatable

I know you're thinking of her,

even when you're with me.

I'm aways second best and 

that's how its going to be.

When we walk and talk

it all feels right.

Regardless, she's who you

wish for every night.

My heart is crushed

and you don't even care.

The pieces are broken

and you give her yours to share.

You don't have to hide it

because Boy I know.

I keep hanging on to us

while you put on a show.

Your friends, your parents,

they think we are in love.

But that "other woman"

will always be a step above.

Damn. this poem is so real and raw. The insecurity behind it like it is in any relationship. Also, the realization of being second best is hard to swallow because no one like to be second best and it made me think for a second if I am second best in my relationship. In my opinion the "other woman" is not a step above but there is time we meet people that stay with us and it hard to let them go, but it is heartbreaking how you keep holding on. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem. N.
