A journey of love

I had a feeling it would be you,

 The one who broke my heart in two

We are so very different, and that is why,

 We had to say a sorrowful goodbye.

It was when you held my hands and pulled me tight. 

You told me everything would be alright.

I kissed your lips and said, “Goodnight”. 

Not knowing soon enough you would be catching your flight

He said we would speak before his plane would depart.

 It was too late to let him know he still had my heart.

I had no idea that my “ Goodnight” was goodbye.

 And now the tears are tickling down from my eyes.

Before I met you, I lived a dark and depressing life, 

and when we were together we walked into light.

And now I sit here, heartbroken and all alone, 

waiting for a text or a call from my phone.

So now I know it was you. 

You’re the one who broke my heart in two.
