I am barefoot
On a hot summer day
I can feel something
I see its eyes glowing
Making its way out as it sees me
I walk back to take flight.
A sudden urge hits me. I can’t do it! I can’t!
I clench my jaw.
Waiting for its attack
Preparing myself.
Still no sign from its exit.
I hear the sound.
The sound forming when
its flesh slither to the ground.
Fear envelopes me
I’m staring into its eyes
It’s staring straight into my soul.
It makes its way to me.
Slowly it did slowly.
I turn pale
I can feel it’s flesh connecting to my flesh
Every scale
every single scale.
I stand here frozen from the inevitable trap
it’s braver than the lion
more clever than the fox.
It opens its portal of venom
I try to run but it’s too late
I feel numb
I feel separation
I stumble to the ground
with grass laying
around and underneath me.
I lay cold blooded
like that Creature of the Wild.
