Come Armageddon

I feel like the world's ending... Though I didn't when I wrote this, oddly enough. A song, actually, with a tune, but no background music yet.

Tonight the sun will fall

Dark light on the horizon

Burning the hope of us all

We dreamt that we were loved

 

Rest now, come Armageddon

I’m not gonna be here when it’s over

This fragile heartbeat’s your last

We were found to be lost again

 

Today the seas will rise

Consuming what we might hold dear

Our destiny boils in the skies

From creation up to now

Give up the hope that’s you last

The end of me

The end of you

Together till the last

Can you recall

How I never said I loved you?

Up to now

What I feel now’s a first

We’ve been lost but we’re found at last.

I liked it. The ending was good, and the idea was, as well. The only thing that threw me off was the rhyming. It disrupted the flow and I think this poem could have done without it.

But on the whole, I thought it was very good.
