Zombies of Chernobyl, chapter threeA Story by Stephanie MThis is a continuation of my Zombies of Chernobyl series.Francis was shocked by what he saw. He stepped through a patch of grotesque trees, into a garden of hissing flowers, that were trying to attach themselves to his leg with a suction cup-like device, and tug at his flesh. "I don't even want to know what these are," Francis thought to himself. He squeezed his eyes shut, and ran until he found himself sinking. He appeared to be in a beach full of quicksand. Francis reached for a tree branch, to gain enough leverage to pull himself out. He screamed as he noticed the trees were bleeding. Francis walked through black deserts of ash, until he reached a burning desert of uranium. Glimmering ray-emitting flowers were growing along the edge. Francis noticed that part of the city of Chernobyl, seemed to be buried beneath the sand. The streets within the city were aflame. The soil resembled sawdust. Francis noticed a sign nearby that read, "Caution, this landscape is poisonous, and may cause hallucinations, and despair!" Francis wandered into a fruity smelling fungus forest. He rubbed his hand against a patch of black ferns. They felt silky to the touch. Some of the flowers had a glassy texture to them. The trees appeared to be rubbery. Some of them were shaped like spears, and others resembled snail horns. Francis avoided the area that had a "Caution, Radioactive Ice Caves" sign. He passed by some strange looking mountains, one was made out of fire, one was made out sulphur, and some were invisible. Francis discovered a radioactive desert of swirling colors. The bluish sand around the area was made of sulphur. The nearby flowers had foil-like petals. Some of the rocks were dancing. Francis noticed a strange patch of trees; some of them resembled oysters, and others could move, and make barking noises. Francis passed ice volcanoes that spewed ice cubes. He trembled as he saw a sand volcano spewing body parts. Zombies were chasing after them, like children going after candy in a parade. © 2014 Stephanie M |
