Survivor

This is a poem about fear, and loss.

I am a survivor

I've spent my life fighting

Yet my fears, I cannot conquer

Yet what doom I have to face

I will go down writing

I've knocked on death's door

and taken a peek inside

Yet these fears will not subside

I will go down writing

Will my journey end tonight?

I know this will sound vague and completely strange--to be sure. But I don't know what it is about this piece that I like so much. Something about it grabs at me and draws me into it and makes me think about it, and I just LIKE it. It is quite a strange feeling to have. Perhaps it is because I can relate to it--or that it draws up thoughts in me that relate to it. However, I definitely found myself enjoying every word more than the last. Great write. =]
