It's just another day

It's just another fight

Life is a battlefield

Open the floodgates

Let me release the pain

The connotations in this poem relate so very well to the character of Hemingway’s work. I was inspired to write my own version of your poem using some of your words. You may keep this version as a gift song-poem to do with as you like. It’s in 0/1/ 0/1 four syllable meter with overlapping rhyme. 1 = accent; 0 = non-accent. Sing along:

Another day
that must be filled,
another fray,
a battlefield
