Song of the Deranged

This is a poem about mental illness.

I'm told not to make a scene

 

so I stay hidden from sight

 

I stay shackled to this attic

 

The moon my only companion

 

More of an animal in my collar and

 

chain

 

Blood on my mouth, a Cheshire grin

 

I sing the songs of the deranged
